ACE2011
Date: 8-11 November, 2011
Place: Reitoria da Universidade Nova de Lisboa
Purpose: Demonstrating 'Catapy' on Creative Showcase and Interactive Art
http://ace2011.org/ I attended the conference 'ACE 2011' held at UNL, Lisbon, Portugal. About 200 researchers participated in ACE 2011. About 70 papers were presented and 20 artworks were shown. Many of participants were Asians (especially Japanese) and a European.
I looked some attractive works that I would like to share with MXR member. These works will surely have influence good for you.
- ANABIOSIS
- Anabiosis is a pictorial artwork based on the polychrome paper computing technology. In this work, human touch gives the printed butterfly a color.
- Chewing Jockey
- Chewing Jockey augments food texture by introducing sound, based on the cross-modality effect. Users can experience munching “super” crispy potato chip, biting “live” food or eating “artificial” materials. We aim to improve eating experience to encourage healthy habits, and to make the eating process entertaining.
- Shadowgram
- Shadowgram is a method for combining the aesthetic entertainment of creating a physical object, a sticker cut out in the shape of your shadow with the intention of participating in social brainstorming.
- Hands-on Interactive Tabletop LEGO Application
- This is an interactive LEGO application, developed accordingly to an adaptation of building block interactions and gestures for multi-touch tabletops.
Also, I showed our work 'Catapy' in the conference. I got various valuable comments from participants and a silver demo award. I'll continue doing my best.
